MY SANCTUARY IN C A N A D A

  • Jan. 11th, 2008 at 10:35 PM

I've been in Canada for almost a month now!!  Times sure flies when you are having a blast..  It's my 2nd time in this beautiful country and I'm reminded of how much I'm in love with it!!  In exactly 2 days, I'm going to begin my DREADFUL journey home :(

This journey has been a great one!!  It's kinda like a Love-Hate trip because I contemplated so much on whether I should cancel it and stay among the company of my great friends in the Singapore or enjoy the cold winter of Canada.  I chose the latter and I'm so glad I did!!  Coming from a warm humid environment, you bet Canada is frickin' cold for me but nevertheless still very much breathtaking and I'm loving every moment of it!!

I started my journey on Saturday December 15, 2007 at 0650 hrs with United Airlines =)  It has been total madness starting from the flight delay in Japan which led me to miss my connecting flight in San Francisco.  I end up having to wait for 4 hours in SF before continuing my journey via Seattle instead of directly...  I end up getting here 8 hrs later than my original planned time - how fun!!  I'm still glad tho when I landed exactly at 2030 hrs yippieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)

I cleared Custom and was out by 2100.  The beautiful airport of Vancouver.  I was freezing but ..
WELCOME TO CANADA

I'd love to share the few places I've stayed in and gladly called "2nd best" next to home.

I was picked up by an ol' friend at the airport after the very much roller coaster 24 hours journey to my final destination and driven to the beautiful place in Chilliwack I'd call "HOME" for the next few days..

My very own room - Comfortable and homely.  That's the bed I'm going to spend my nights creating sweet dreams!!

A warm welcome from Kaethe and Wells (a wonderful couple whose are like parent to me while I'm in Chilliwack) - how schweet!!  You bet I've been taking good care and well fed!!  (all the weights I've put on hmmm)

The family living room ..

The backyard and  YES it was SNOWED on that day!!!

The last snapshot I got of the mountain in Chiliwack (after 4 days here) before I head down to Port Moody to stay for the night before I continue my journey to Vancouver Island the next day on December 20, 2007!

The highway to Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal.  Continuing my journey to Vancouver Island to stay for a few days!!

That's my ferry :)

All set and on my way!!  Vancouver Island - here I come!!  Still can't contain my excitement altho I've been here in 2003.  It's still be while already eh - told you time flies!  It'll be fun to spend the next few days in a place which carries a lot of memories and meet peeps I call "family"..

Here I am - the same room I stayed when I was here 4 yrs ago!  Nothing really change - this is going to be my "home" for the next few days beginning Dec 20, 2007

A view from my room - beautifully covered with fresh snow
My stay only lasted 4 days and I'm set back to Vancouver on December 24, 2007.  It's X'mas on the next day which I'll be spending with another friend and his family :)  Than I'm off on a road trip - 5 hours drive to Kamloops to stay for a night on December 26, 2007 and another 8 hours drive to Edmonton Alberta on December 27, 2007 to watch THE FIGHT CLUB

Anyway heres' the last comfortable "home" in Port Moody where I stayed for the rest of my trip...

My sofabed and its facing the TV in the living room :)

The tiny kitchen I prepare all my meals :)

The dining table altho I NEVER use it :)

The 2 bedrooms to the left and the toilet on the right :)

A walk to the Living room

The sofa - I fell asleep for a week on that and I swear it was sooo frickin' comfortable

The bookshelf with pretty interesting books

Movies I rented that I watched over and over again - Can't help it, it's the good ones

Last but not least ermmm CHESS ANYONE?? :)
